Connect and sync
The connection test verifies the integrated server route, the Companion runtime, the full rules-page transfer path, and the D&D Beyond tab you opened through the Companion. It does not start a library scan or open a work window. Only an actual sync creates a dedicated background worker. Firefox uses an inactive tab in the current window; Chromium-family browsers use the minimised worker window.

Browser Companion setup Required once
The Companion must be installed in the same browser profile as D&D Beyond. Follow the order below so Songbound can select the correct authenticated browser context.
- Install the Companion: extract the ZIP and load the folder that directly contains
manifest.json. - Reload Songbound: return to this Account page and press
Ctrl+Shift+Rafter installing or updating the extension. - Use the button above: click Open D&D Beyond in Songbound. Do not use an unrelated manually opened tab for the first connection.
- Sign in in the tab opened or selected by the Companion, leave it open, then run the connection test.
Firefox discloses that rendered website content is sent to your Songbound server for parsing. The Companion does not read or transmit D&D Beyond cookie values.

The combined option scans both rules generations in one sync and keeps both active in your private library.
